Ear Reshaping or Otoplasty, repositions prominent ears closer to the head with or without reduction in ear size. The procedure is most commonly performed in patients ages 4-14. An incision is made behind the ear and the ear cartilage is reshaped. The procedure takes 1-2 hours and is performed in an outpatient setting. Head-wrap dressings are removed in 5-7 days and physical activities may be resumed in 4 weeks.
